Santa Ponsa, also known as Santa Ponça, is a popular beach holiday resort located about 6 km. from Magaluf and 23 km. from capital Palma de Mallorca, on the south west coast of Majorca. Santa Ponsa is also popular with its white sandy beaches and crystal clear waters. The capital city of Palma de Mallorca and its neighbors Palma Nova, Magaluf (located about 5 km. to the east) and Paguera are the other popular neighbouring resort nearby Santa Ponsa that forms the municipal district of Calvia.
Santa Ponsa is a great holiday destination with a perfect and relaxing atmosphere. There are numerous things to do in Santa Ponsa for the holidaymakers. Santa Ponsa is also best known for its golfing opportunities. The resort has three large golf courses. Two 18-hole and one 9-hole golf course can be found Santa Ponsa. Santa Ponsa 1 is public, 2 and 3 are private and for members only.
The main strip of Santa Ponsa, which is called Ramon de Montcada is the liveliest area of the resort and there are wide range of dining and wining opportunities for the holidaymakers. Holidaymakers may find the beautiful nature park La Reserva just after a short drive from Santa Ponsa. The nature park is worth a visit. Santa Ponsa beaches are great. Santa Ponsa beach has been awarded the Blue Flag that means it adheres to the strict rules and standards. It has also been awarded the prestigious “Q” for European Quality.
Regarding the other popular holiday towns of Majorca, such as Magaluf and Palma Nova; Santa Ponsa is a much quieter and relaxing destination.
As for nightlife in Santa Ponsa; Santa Ponsa nightlife is fantastic. Night time entertainment activities in Santa Ponsa starts in the early evening, but of course it is not as intense as the neighbouring Magaluf. There are variety of great pubs, music bars, night clubs and discos in Santa Ponsa in which the holidaymakers may enjoy their Santa Ponsa holidays.
The Son Sant Joan Airport of the island Majorca is located about 8 km. from the capital Palma and about 32 km. from Santa Ponsa. Holidaymakers may easily find many direct and connecting flights, scheduled and charter, linking Palma with all main European destinations.
As for airport transfers, it takes about 30-40 minutes drive from Palma airport to Santa Ponsa and costs approx £45 euros in a taxi. Booking a shuttle transfer from Palma Airport to Santa Ponsa is the cheapest option for the holidaymakers. Public transportation in Santa Ponsa is well organized. Holidaymakers can easily travel to the neighbouring resorts or visit the island’s capital, Palma de Mallorca. Buses run every 30 minutes.
